Protesters Demonstrate Outside Of Home of Deputy Who Killed Andres Guardado

About 75 to 100 protesters demonstrated Thursday evening outside a Covina house believed to be the home of the deputy who killed 18-year-old Andres Guardado near Gardena.
The protesters went to the 400 block of North Cedar Drive, near West San Bernardino Road, to demand the arrest and prosecution of Deputy Miguel Vega, who fatally shot Andres Guardado about 6 p.m. June 18 near the 400 block of West Redondo Beach Boulevard.
Thursday evening’s demonstration prompted a response from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, along with other local law enforcement agencies.
The assembly was declared unlawful and protesters cleared the scene by 9:30 p.m., according to KCAL9.
No arrests were made, Covina police said.
The shooting has generated large protests, demands for the firing and prosecution of Vega and widespread calls for an outside inquiry into the death.
The FBI announced on July 17 it would review Guardado’s death.
