Firefighters Monday put out flames in 1/4 acre of dense, hard-to-reach brush in Montecito Heights.

The fire was reported at 3:19 a.m. in the 5000 block of North Griffin Avenue, said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Nicholas Prange.

The 36 firefighters assigned to put out the flames succeeded in 37 minutes, Prange said.

They expected to remain on the scene to make sure there were no hot spots, he said.

No injuries were reported and the fire was under investigation, Prange said.
