Man Fatally Shot in Florence Area

Police Friday were investigating the shooting death of a man in the Florence area of South Los Angeles.

The victim was sitting in his vehicle near East 84th Street and San Pedro when a suspect drove up and fired into the car about 8:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, died at the scene.

No suspect information or possible motive for the shooting was released, but detectives said they do not believe the shooting was gang-related.
