The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office asked police Friday to conduct further investigation into the death of a Long Beach woman whose husband was booked on suspicion of murder.

Henry Allen, 74, was taken into custody Wednesday in the San Bernardino County community of Barstow in connection with the death of his 63-year-old wife, Debbie, according to Long Beach police.

Officers went to the 1000 block of Harding Street on an “unknown trouble call” and found the woman’s body about 11:35 a.m. Wednesday.

`The calling party responded to the residence to check the well-being of the residents, after not hearing from them in the past few days,” according to a police statement. “Upon arriving, the calling party observed suspicious circumstances and called the Long Beach Police Department.”

Arriving officers “located a crime scene, and a deceased female adult with signs of decomposition and wounds to her upper torso,” police said. “The preliminary investigation revealed the victim lived with her husband, who was no longer at the location.”

Allen was arrested just before 6:45 that evening and remained jailed in lieu of $2 million bail as of Friday afternoon, according to the jail records.
