An autopsy was pending Monday on the body of a 9-year-old boy who died from a possible accidental drowning at a Hacienda Heights home, authorities said.

Neal Gutierrez was a La Puente resident, coroner’s Lt. Larry Dietz said.

Detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding the possible accidental drowning death of Gutierrez, the Sheriff’s Department said.

It was reported at 8:53 p.m. Saturday in the 3000 block of Leticia Drive, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau reported. Gutierrez was pronounced dead at a hospital, Dietz said.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives asked anyone with information regarding the death to call them at 323-890-5500.
