Police Report Man Shot, Wounded in Monrovia

A man was wounded in a Monrovia shooting Sunday morning and an attempted murder investigation was underway by police.

It happened at 1:30 a.m. in the 400 block of East Maple Avenue, according to police officials.

Officers responding to a call about gunshots heard found the man with two gunshot wounds, police said.

Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment and evidence of the shooting was recovered at the scene, police said. The motive for the shooting was not known.
