Person Killed In Thousand Palms Freeway Collision

A person was killed in a collision on eastbound Interstate 10 in Thousand Palms Thursday evening.
The crash occurred about 8:20 p.m. west of Monterey Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The victim died at the scene, the department reported.
A person was freed from a vehicle, according to the fire department, but it was not immediately clear if that was the same person who died.
The California Highway Patrol was handling the investigation but could not be reached for further details.
