Man killed, another wounded in Studio City shooting

A 50-year-old Canoga Park man was killed and a second man he was with was wounded Thursday night when someone from a car fired shots at them in a Studio City grocery store parking lot.
It was around 11 p.m. when police officers were called about shots fired on the 4000 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Officers found two shooting victims in the lot between Vons and the CVS Pharmacy. Both men were taken to a hospital, where one died, said Officer Rosario Cervantes, an LAPD spokeswoman.
The other remained hospitalized; his condition was not disclosed Friday morning.
Cervantes said it appears the two men were standing in the lot outside of a car when a gray vehicle approached and someone inside shot at them multiple times before driving off.
Police did not have a description of the suspects or a motive for the shooting.
