Food Truck in Garden Grove Robbed, Suspect May Be Involved in Other Robberies

by Contributing Editor

A food truck was robbed Monday evening in Garden Grove of several hundred dollars in cash by an armed gunman and authorities investigated the possibility the same suspect was involved in similar robberies in the city over the past week.

Officers responded about 9:10 p.m. to the northwest corner of Euclid Street and Hazard Avenue and were told the suspect pulled a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from an employee, who gave the suspect the cash and witnessed the suspect leave the area westbound on Hazard Avenue in a silver Jeep Cherokee, according to Sgt. J. Brown of the Garden Grove Police Department.

The suspect was described as a black man, 40-45 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing 250 to 300 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white sleeveless T-shirt and grey oversized shorts, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, Brown said.

Police looked into the possibility the suspect was responsible for other food truck robberies.

“There have been additional robberies with similar circumstances and a similar suspect description over the past week,” Brown said.

Anyone with information about these armed robberies was asked to call the GGPD at 714-741-5704.
