Armed Man Arrested Following Barricade in Maserati Dealership in Santa Monica

A man armed with a weapon who barricaded himself inside a Maserati dealership in Santa Monica Friday morning was taken into custody with the help of a police dog.
The suspect ran from the building in the area of 18th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard about 5:40 a.m. and was taken into custody, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
Video from the scene showed SWAT officers and a dog chasing after the suspect and the dog catching the suspect at the end of an alley. He quickly surrendered.
The incident began about 2:30 a.m. and the suspect was inside a vehicle in the Maserati dealership showroom, ABC7 reported.
Police asked residents to continue to avoid the area and shelter in place.
