Three people were in custody Tuesday morning suspected of being involved in a shooting on the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles, but it was unclear if anyone was struck by the gunfire.
The shooting occurred around 12:10 a.m. on the transition road from the eastbound Santa Monica Freeway to the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Three people were taken into custody and an investigation into the shooting prompted the closure of the eastbound and westbound Santa Monica Freeway transition roads to the Harbor Freeway until about 4:30 a.m., the CHP said.
A motive for the shooting was unclear.
