A man who was shot last week in a Pasadena neighborhood died Monday from his injuries, police said.

Pasadena police identified the victim as Anthony Michael Tafoya Ortiz, 24, of Los Angeles.

The shooting broke out on the 100 block of Painter Street shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

The victim was with a companion when he met other people on Painter Street, Pasadena Lt. Jesse Carrillo said.

“There was some type of disagreement and he got shot,” Carrillo said.

Officers who responded to a call of a gunshot victim on Painter Street found the victim, who was rushed to a hospital in critical condition on Friday, Pasadena Police Lt. Pete Hettema said.
