Woman Found Dead of Apparent Stab Wounds in Garden Grove

by Contributing Editor

Investigators Wednesday were searching a Garden Grove condominium where a woman was found dead of stab wounds and were trying to locate her adult son, who shared a rented room in the residence with his mother.

Vivian Wolff, 62, was discovered dead about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in the condo in the 14000 block of Flower Street, Garden Grove Police Lt. Carl Whitney said. Wolff was last seen alive at 9 p.m. Saturday, Whitney said.

There were no signs of a break-in, according to Whitney, who said a family friend found the body and called police. The victim had apparently been dead for about 24 hours.

Police were looking for her 29-year-old son, Jonathan Michael Warner, who has not been seen since Friday, and is considered a “person of interest” in the killing, Whitney said.

“We’re trying to find out where he is right now. We want to talk to him and find out if he knows what happened to his mom,” the lieutenant said.

Warner is 6-feet tall, weighs about 165 pounds and has short, possibly shaven brown hair, brown eyes and a medium build.

Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call police at 714-741-5786 or 714-741-5810.
