ALHAMBRA — A pedestrian was struck and killed Monday on the eastbound 10 Freeway in Alhambra, authorities said.

The fatality was reported at 3:53 a.m. on the eastbound 10 just east of Atlantic Boulevard, California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Polizzi said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Polizzi said.

The gender and age of the pedestrian and whether they had gotten out of a vehicle were not available.

The CHP issued a SigAlert about 3:45 a.m., shutting down all lanes of the eastbound 10 Freeway just east of Atlantic Boulevard and the Fremont Avenue onramp but reopened the Express Lanes at 4:20 a.m.
