Alleged Parents of Riverside Child Abduction Suspect Also Arrested

by Contributing Editor

A man and woman who claim to be the parents of Joshua Adle and were with him when he was arrested in Utah for kidnapping two Riverside girls were also taken into custody, police said Sunday.

Frank Marks and Angela Yonko were in the van with Adle and the girls when a Utah highway patrol officer recognized their vehicle and pulled them over on Thursday, Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback said. Officers took Adle, 24, into custody along with his alleged parents and the two girls, who are safe and have been reunited with their mother, according to the Riverside Police Department.

Adle is accused of snatching his Riverside girlfriend’s two daughters about 9:40 p.m. Tuesday from a residence in the 3100 block of Grace Street, according Railsback.

Police said Adle took 18-month-old Darla Yonko and 8-month-old Emma Yonko after a domestic squabble during which Adle struck the mother, whose name was not released.

It was unclear how long the suspect and victim have been in a relationship. They are not married but have been living together, police said.

According to police, the girls were taken from their beds after the woman stepped out of the residence.

“It is believed the suspect and his alleged parents had no intentions to return the children to their mother,” Railsback said.

Riverside County issued an arrest warrant for Adle, alleging kidnapping, parental abduction and domestic violence.

He remained in custody at the Iron County Jail in Utah awaiting an extradition hearing.

Marks and Angela Yonko also were jailed at the same facility on suspicion of child kidnapping.

Police have not yet been able to verify if the pair are Adle’s parents due to their use of various names and nicknames, Railsback said.

Jail records show they are from Detroit.

The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, FBI and National Center for Missing & Exploited Children coordinated with Riverside police to locate the suspect and victims.
