Young Girls Snatched From Riverside, Suspect Sought

by Contributing Editor

Riverside police asked for the public’s help Wednesday finding two small children allegedly taken by their mother’s 24-year-old live-in boyfriend after the couple became embroiled in a verbal and physical altercation.

Police said Joshua Adle allegedly took 18-month-old Darla Yonko and 8-month-old Emma Yonko Tuesday night. Police said Adle and the girls’ mother got into an altercation that turned physical between 9 and 10 p.m. Tuesday at their home in the 3100 block of Grace Street.

The mother put the children to bed and temporary left the home, and when she returned shortly before 11 a.m., Adle and the children were gone, police said. The children’s legal identification documents and other items were also taken, according to police.

Investigators said they believe Adle may be heading toward Michigan.

Adle is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark blue sleeveless t-shirt with a tribal tattoo on his upper left arm, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Adle, who is not the children’s father, drives a blue 1982 Cadillac with a white top. The car is not believed to have any license plates, but the actual plate should be California number 2GGW196. The last four digits of the vehicle identification number are 8526.

Darla Yonko is Hispanic and was wearing purple hooded zip-up pajamas.

Emma Yonko is Hispanic and was wearing white and yellow zip-up pajamas.

Anyone who see the children or Adle was asked to call 911 immediately.
