Lynwood man identified as victim in fatal Gardena shooting

GARDENA — Authorities Tuesday identified a 23-year-old man who was shot and killed in Gardena, and continued their efforts to solve the crime.

Enry Villarreal of Lynwood died at the scene of the shooting, which occurred about 6 p.m. Sunday in the 15300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, according to the Coroner’s Office and the Sheriff’s Department.

Responding deputies found the victim lying on a sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper chest, the Sheriff’s Department reported.

A motive for the shooting was unknown, and no suspect description was available.
