L.A. County Sheriff’s Department looking for suspect and woman believed kidnapped from Monrovia

Authorities sought a man suspected of kidnapping a woman following reports of a domestic dispute in Monrovia on Monday, July 29.

Monrovia police responded to a report of domestic violence at the 600 block of Vaquero Road at about 8:15 a.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said in a news release. Officers found signs of an assault when they arrived, and believe a woman was taken from the scene against her will.

She was identified in the release as Amanda Kathleen Custer, 31, and described as white, with brown hair and green eyes, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds. Authorities suspect she was abducted by Robert Anthony Camou, 27, who is white with brown hair and eyes,  6 feet tall and weighs roughly 150 pounds. They may be traveling in a gray Toyota Prius bearing California license plate number 8AOR167.

The investigation into the incident was ongoing as of Monday evening. Deputies asked anyone with information relevant to their investigation to contact the Department’s Homicide Bureau by dialing 323-890-5500.
