NORTHRIDGE — A SWAT team entered a building housing a marijuana dispensary in the Lake Balboa area Thursday seeking three burglary suspects thought to be hiding inside, but no one was found, police said.
Officers sent to the 16900 block of Roscoe Boulevard — just west of Van Nuys Airport — about 2 a.m. surrounded the building and summoned a SWAT team to arrest suspects thought to be armed.
The SWAT team entered the building about 10 a.m. and determined that the suspects were gone, police said.
Traffic was routed away from the area during the investigation.
The location is in the community of Northridge, just north of Lake Balboa.
The incident occurred on a day when most police and media attention was on the manhunt for Gerry Dean Zaragoza, the Canoga Park man suspected of killing four people, and wounding two others in shootings at three San Fernando Valley locations in a 12-hour period.
