Shooting in North Hollywood Leaves One Dead, One Hospitalized

Two people were wounded, one fatally, in a shooting outside a gas station in North Hollywood Thursday morning and a person was detained for questioning, authorities said.
Officers responded to reports of a multi-victim shooting in the 6700 block of Vineland Avenue, near Vanowen Street, about 2:45 a.m. and located a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Both victims were taken to a hospital, where the woman died and the man was in critical condition, police said. Information was not immediately available on the woman’s identity.
A person was detained for questioning. It was unknown if the shooting was gang-related. The suspect was described only as a man in his 30s, police said.
