Gas-fueled Ventura Boulevard fire investigated as possible arson

by Daily News

A fire that burned four Italian cypress trees and damaged a commercial structure Wednesday on Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks is being investigated as possible arson.

Los Angeles firefighters responded late Tuesday morning to 13615 Ventura Blvd. — the location of The Woodman, which describes itself as a gastropub. The two-story structure was on fire, and a gas line was involved, said the LA Fire Department’s Nicholas Prange.

Firefighters took about a half-hour to extinguish the blaze, said a photographer at the scene.

Despite the heat wave, which boosted the temperature to around 100 degrees, LAFD firefighters battled the blaze in full gear
