MISSION HILLS — A man found lying on a street in Mission Hills early Tuesday died a short time later at a hospital, and police were investigating the death as an apparent homicide, authorities said.

The man, in his 40s, was discovered about 3 a.m. near Stranwood Avenue and San Fernando Mission Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The location is just south of San Fernando Mission Cemetery.

Information was not immediately available on the man’s identity or on the cause of death. No arrests were reported, and no suspect information was released.
