NORTHRIDGE — A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Tuesday in the Northridge area.

Paramedics sent to the 8700 block Reseda Boulevard about 11:10 a.m. pronounced the person dead at the scene, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

The northbound Amtrak train No. 14, the Coast Starlight, “struck one pedestrian on or near the railroad tracks west of Reseda Boulevard,” the LAFD reported.

Information was not immediately available on the identity or gender of the fatally injured person.

Buses were sent to assist passengers on Metrolink’s Ventura County Line train No. 112, and will make all stops into Los Angeles between Chatsworth and Union Station, according to Metrolink.
