405 Freeway rollover crash kills one in Van Nuys; SigAlert issued

VAN NUYS — One person was killed and another person was injured in a single vehicle rollover crash early Friday morning on the southbound 405 Freeway in Van Nuys.
The crash involving a cream colored SUV was reported about 3:20 a.m. and involved the SUV flying approximately 50 feet down an embankment off the freeway before it landed on its side below the Roscoe Boulevard onramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One person was declared dead at the scene and the second victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, the CHP said.
The ages, genders and names of the victims were not immediately released.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
A SigAlert was issued until at least 7 a.m. for the No. 4 lane of the San Diego Freeway and the Roscoe Boulevard onramp to the freeway, the CHP said.
