by City News Service

WESTWOOD — UCLA police kept searching Thursday for a man who pushed a university staff member and made sexually explicit and threatening statements to her.

The confrontation occurred about 10:40 a.m. Tuesday near Westwood Boulevard and Le Conte Avenue, according to UCLA police acting Capt. Kevin Kilgore.

The victim was walking on a sidewalk when she was approached by a man who pushed her and made sexually explicit threats, Kilgore said. Several bystanders yelled at the man to stop, and the woman was able to get away from her assailant. The victim was not injured.

The woman ran from the scene. The man was last seen walking southbound on Westwood Boulevard toward Weyburn Avenue, Kilgore said.

The suspect was described as about 35 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build, brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white tank top and dirty khaki pants, Kilgore said. The man may have been under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, he said.

Anyone with information was asked to call UCLA police detectives at 310-825-1491.
