An investigation was underway Thursday morning into a deputy-involved shooting in Stanton that claimed the life of a 50-year-old suspect.

Deputies responded to a family disturbance call at a home in the 10000 block of Sycamore Avenue about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, at which time a deputy-involved shooting occurred, according to Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Exact details of what led up to the shooting were not immediately disclosed. The name of the suspect was not released.

There was no threat to the community and the shooting will be investigated by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Braun said.
