by Contributing Editor

Santa Monica police Tuesday announced a $10,000 reward for help in finding a man who set a police vehicle on fire on May 31 during protests against police brutality.

The crime occurred about 5 p.m. that day in the loading dock area of the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, police said.

Security images were released of the suspect, described as white, in his mid-20s, with a thin build and red or blond hair and a reddish beard. He had a tattoo on the upper part of his left arm and a stud earring in his left ear.

He wore a gray short-sleeve T-shirt, green pants, brown dress shoes, a bandanna on his face with the American flag printed on it, and a white hat with a DONPISTO logo.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call 310-458-8398, or 310-458-8491.
