Crews tackle small brush fire in Shadow Hills area of Los Angeles

SHADOW HILLS — It took firefighters about 50 minutes Saturday to stop the progress of a brush fire in the Shadow Hills area of Los Angeles, authorities said.
The fire was two acres when reported at 2:18 p.m. at 9852 West Lanark Street, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
The LAFD quickly summoned 84 firefighters to the area, including helicopters and stopped the progress of the fire in 37 minutes, Prange said.
“This fire was in the former burn footprint of the 2017 La Tuna Fire, which burned 7,194 acres,” Prange said. “Structures are no longer threatened. Crews will remain on scene to extinguish hot spots within the burn perimeter, and to improve the line around the fire.”
No injuries were reported, he said, adding five to six acres were burned.
