by Contributing Editor

A man died Saturday when his vehicle crashed into a wall in Santa Ana.

Isidro Cruz Mendez, 26, was a Santa Ana resident, according to Supervising Deputy Orange County Coroner I. Chavez.

The crash occurred at 2:45 a.m. on Ross Street at McFadden Avenue, the Santa Ana Police Department said in a news release.

The vehicle was going southbound on Ross Street when the driver failed to stop at the intersection and crashed into a wall south of McFadden Avenue, police said.

Paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

Alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the crash, police said. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call Investigator N. Quinones at 714-245-8284, or the Santa Ana Police Department’s Traffic Division at 714-245-8200.
