Suspected Drunken Driver Arrested After Brief Chase

A suspected drunken driver was arrested this evening after a brief police chase from Huntington Beach to Long Beach.

The chase started about 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Newland Street, according to Lt. Kevin Johnson of the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Officers stopped the vehicle with a PIT maneuver near Bryant Road and Anaheim Road in Long Beach and took the man into custody at 6:42 p.m., Johnson said.

Neither the suspect nor the officers were injured during the chase, according to Johnson.
