Suspect in Sword Attack Fatally Shot By Police In Pomona

A suspect in an alleged sword attack was fatally shot Monday evening by officers with the Pomona Police Department.
The shooting occurred about 7:30 p.m. in the 200 block of South Reservoir Street, near East 3rd Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which was assisting Pomona police with the investigation into the shooting.
The suspect, only described by police as a man, had been involved in a nearby sword attack that sent its victim to a hospital, KCAL9 reported.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s department said.
No officers were injured in the shooting and a weapon was recovered from the scene, according to police.
