Suspect in Sword Attack Fatally Shot By Police In Pomona

A suspect in an alleged sword attack was fatally shot Monday evening by officers with the Pomona Police Department.

The shooting occurred about 7:30 p.m. near South Reservoir Street and East 3rd Street, according to police.

The suspect, only described by police as a man, had been involved in a nearby sword attack that sent its victim to a hospital, KCAL9 reported.

No officers were injured in the shooting and police recovered a weapon from the scene, according to police.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives are investigating the shooting.
