by Contributing Editor

A man was killed Monday in an apparent gang-related shooting outside his home in Norwalk, and authorities sought the suspect or suspects in the crime.

The shooting was reported about 4:15 a.m. in an alley in the 15400 block of Lefloss Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim, in his 30s, died at a hospital. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.

“Investigators have learned the victim heard a noise outside his residence, went outside to the alley to investigate and was shot,” a sheriff’s department statement said. “The suspect(s) fled on foot in an unknown direction. At this time, it appears the shooting is gang related.”

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
