Husband and Wife Severely Injured in Echo Park Hit-and-Run

A husband and a wife suffered severe injuries Monday in an Echo Park hit-and-run crash, authorities said.

It happened just before 1 a.m. on Sunset Boulevard at White Knoll Drive, said Sgt. J. Garcia of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division.

The man and woman were not in a crosswalk when they were struck, Garcia said.

While they both suffered severe injuries, the woman was listed in grave condition, the LAPD noted on Twitter.

The vehicle was described as dark, Garcia said. Surveillance video on broadcast media showed a dark sedan striking the couple.
