Jeep Drives Off Top Of Six-Story Parking Structure

A motorist in a jeep escaped with only minor injuries after he drove the vehicle off the top level of a parking structure in Santa Monica and landed it across the street, against the side of a building, a police sergeant said Sunday.
The crash in the area of Second Street and Colorado Avenue occurred just after midnight, Santa Monica Police Sgt. Sean Fraser said. Video from the scene showed the wrecked vehicle against a McDonald’s.
The motorist, the lone occupant inside the vehicle, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, he said.
It was not immediately known if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
Witnesses at the scene said the parking structure was a six-story building.
