Motorist Sought Who Drove onto Sidewalk and Hit Pedestrian, Costing Her a Leg

Authorities Friday are seeking public help to find a hit-and-run driver who drove onto a sidewalk, striking and critically injuring a pedestrian, requiring the amputation of one of her legs.
Officers responded to the scene at 14th and Olive streets in downtown Los Angeles about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The vehicle drove onto the sidewalk and struck the woman, who is in her 50s. The driver fled without rendering aid, police reported.
The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and one of her legs had to be amputated, according to police.
There is a $15,000 reward for anyone who provides information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.
