Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Huntington Beach Fight

A 26-year-old man was charged Thursday with attempted murder stemming from a fist fight in Huntington Beach that left a victim unconscious.

Brandon Lee Green was charged with attempted murder with a sentencing enhancement for attempted premeditated murder and inflicting great bodily injury on the victim. He was also charged with a count of felony assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury with a sentencing enhancement for inflicting great bodily injury.

Green was also charged with a misdemeanor count of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury.

Green got into an argument with another man he knew that escalated into a fight about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pacific Coast Highway and Ninth Street, said Huntington Beach Police Department Officer Angela Bennett.

The victim fell down and was knocked unconscious, Bennett said. The man was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Bennett said.

Green’s scheduled arraignment on Thursday was rescheduled for March 13 in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana.
