by Contributing Editor

Authorities searched for a suspect Thursday evening after he crashed his vehicle during a pursuit with the California Highway Patrol and fled on foot in the Mission Hills area.

The Los Angeles Police Department received a call about 6:20 p.m. to assist the CHP once the pursuit ended near Devonshire Street and the San Diego (405) Freeway, according to LAPD Officer Tony Im.

The pursuit started after the driver ran a red light, CHP Officer Stephan Brandt said.

A perimeter has been set up in the area of Langdon Avenue and Devonshire Street, Brandt said.
