Suspect in Fatal Stabbing of Woman Set to Appear in Court in Santa Ana

A 50-year-old man was charged Thursday with fatally stabbing his wife in San Juan Capistrano.

Sebastian Garcia Ramirez, 50, was charged with murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon. Ramirez was scheduled to be arraigned sometime Thursday in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana.

Deputies were sent to the 26000 block of Cedar Grove Court about 10 p.m. Tuesday “after receiving multiple calls of a domestic disturbance,” said Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and Ramirez was detained there by deputies.

Investigators have not released the name of the 45-year-old victim because they have not officially confirmed her identity, Braun said. That will happen at the time of the autopsy, she added.

” Based on initial witness information, investigators believe there is no further threat to the community,” Braun said.
