by City News Service

PACOIMA — Police Monday were seeking the public’s help to identify the suspect or suspects in the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man who had been sitting in his vehicle in Pacoima.

Police found Anthony Lopez II, of Mission Hills, suffering from a gunshot wound near the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Vaughn Street around 10 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He was taken to a hospital where he died, police reported.

Detectives have determined that the shooting occurred near the intersection of Bromont Street and Fielding Avenue, as Lopez was sitting in his vehicle. He then drove to the area of Foothill and Vaughn, where a passerby called 9-1-1, according to the police.

No suspects have been arrested and the motive for the shooting is unknown. Anyone with information about the killing should contact Valley Bureau homicide Detective Al Arguelles at 818-374-9550. During non-business hours or weekends, call 1-877-LAPD-24-7.
