Two Students Arrested for Fighting at Moreno Valley High School

Two teenage girls were arrested for allegedly getting into a brawl at a Moreno Valley high school, sheriff’s officials said Saturday.
School administrators notified a Riverside County sheriff’s deputy assigned to Valley View High School about 1:50 p.m. Friday that an assault had occurred on campus, said Sgt. Victor Tejeda.
“The students approached each other prior to going to class and began fighting,” he said.
The 16-year-old students were arrested and booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of committing battery on school grounds.
Neither of the girls were injured in the fight.
However, a recent spate of violence at Moreno Valley schools has raised concern from parents.
A 13-year-old boy died after he was attacked on Sept. 16 at Landmark Middle School by two other boys. Diego Stolz was punched in the face, causing him to fall backward and bang his head on a concrete pillar, which led to fatal head trauma. The two boys allegedly involved in the assault are facing manslaughter charges
In another incident, three 12-year-old girls are suspected of assaulting a student and teacher on Oct. 2 at Sunnymead Middle School, resulting in several arrests.
