Deadly Crash Prompts Closure of Southbound I-5 Truck Lanes in Santa Clarita

A deadly crash Saturday morning in the truck lanes of the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Santa Clarita killed at least one person and prompted the closure of the roadway for at least three hours.

The crash occurred at 12:50 a.m. just north of the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Details of what led up to the crash and the age, gender and name of the victim were not disclosed.

The southbound truck lanes of the Golden State Freeway north of the Antelope Valley Freeway were closed until at least 4:30 a.m., the CHP said.
