Authorities ID Man Shot to Death at Hyde Park Recreation Center

Authorities Monday identified a Nevada man who was shot to death at the Van Ness Recreation Center in the Hyde Park area of Los Angeles.

The shooting was reported at 7:51 p.m. Sunday b or in the bleachers at the park at 5720 Second Ave., said Sgt. J. Phelps of the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Station.

Olend Quincy Mickell, 48, of Las Vegas, died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office and the LAPD.

No suspect information was released.
