Authorities ID Homeless Man Found Dead in South Gate

Authorities Thursday identified a homeless man whose body was found in South Gate, and an autopsy was pending to determine his cause of death.

Mike Alcazar, 28, was found dead about 6:40 a.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of Nebraska Avenue, according to the coroner’s office and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Foul play was not suspected in the death, according to the sheriff’s department, which was assisting South Gate police in the investigation.
