Man, 77, Who Went Missing in Long Beach Returns to Family

Police Friday said a 77-year-old man who went missing in Long Beach returned home safely and has been reunited with his family.

George Clevland Crout Jr., who suffers from undisclosed medical conditions which led him to be disoriented, returned home Friday, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

Crout was last seen in the 4100 block of East Willow Street, near Grand Avenue, about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Long Beach Police Department.

The Silver Alert program was established to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled and cognitively impaired individuals, according to the California Highway Patrol.
