Pedestrian Killed in Indio Intersection Identified

Authorities Thursday identified a pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle in an Indio intersection as a 75-year-old resident of the city.
Raymond Cretin was fatally injured about 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday in the intersection of Avenue 44 and West Circle Drive, according to police and coroner’s officials.
Despite first responders efforts to save him, Cretin was pronounced dead at the scene about 10 minutes later.
According to Indio Police Department spokesman Ben Guitron, the collision occurred in a residential area with no traffic lights.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, he said.
