Motorist Killed, Brush Fire Started When Car Hits Tree in San Jacinto

A motorist was killed when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in San Jacinto, which then ignited a vegetation fire.

The crash occurred a little after 1:05 a.m. in the area of State Street and Soboba Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The motorist, the lone occupant inside the vehicle, died at the scene.

The crash ignited a vegetation fire that was contained by firefighters at 1:45 a.m.
