One person was taken to a hospital with burn injuries Thursday from a brush fire in Costa Mesa’s Fairview Park.
The fire broke out just after 4 p.m. at the park at 2501 Placentia Ave., said Costa Mesa Fire Department Capt. Joseph Noceti.
The blaze started in the picnic area of the park near Estancia High School, but no structures were damaged, Noceti said.
Flames were driven by brush and partially by wind, he said.
The fire was suppressed by 6:30 p.m. and fire crews wrapped up by 8:30 p.m., according to Noceti.
A male civilian was taken to a hospital with burn injuries, Noceti said. Further information about the victim was not released.
