Children Struck by Vehicles in Westlake Village, One Killed, One Hospitalized

A child was killed and another hospitalized with injuries suffered when the pair were struck by vehicles on a street in Westlake Village, and a woman was arrested, authorities said Wednesday.
Paramedics responded to a crash about 7:15 p.m. in the area of Saddle Mountain Drive and Triunfo Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Triunfo Canyon Road was closed between Lindero Canyon Road and Twin Lakes Ridge while an investigation was conducted, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A woman was arrested in connection with the crash, according to the sheriff’s department. Information was not immediately available on her name or what charges she might face.
According to Fox11, an 11-year-old boy died and his 8-year-old brother was injured. A sheriff’s spokesperson could not immediately confirm that report. The name of the fatally injured child was withheld, pending family notification.
Video from the scene showed a scooter in the street and a helmet and roller blades on a sidewalk near the crash location.
The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
