Homicide Detectives Investigating Woman’s Death In Compton

Homicide detectives were investigating a woman’s death in Compton Tuesday afternoon, but details were sketchy.

Deputies were dispatched about 4:15 p.m. to the 15000 block of South Wadsworth Avenue, near Roy Campanella Park, according to Deputy Eric Ortiz of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The woman, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene, Ortiz said.

A woman was being investigated as a suspect, but it was not immediately clear if she was in custody.
